Jake Lohser

Jake Lohser grew up in Cleveland Heights OH, he graduating from Heights High in 1997 and moved to Boulder Colorado to earn his BS from The University of Colorado at Boulder.  He moved back to his home town after college and got his real estate license in 2005.  He helped open the first Keller Williams office in downtown Cleveland and created the Lohser Real Estate Group at Keller Williams Greater Cleveland.  Jake and his wife Sara live in Shaker Heights with their 4 Children.

He created this blog to bring attention to Downtown Cleveland.  With the restaurants, shops and commerce in downtown it has become a truly livable neighborhood.  The great thing about Downtown Cleveland is that although it is made up of many different unique areas and attractions, they are all close enough together to be accessed relatively easily.  So whether you think of the heart of downtown Cleveland as Public Square, the Warehouse District or even Gateway, all three answers could be right.

  2. Mike Maimone says:

Hi Jake, how are you? My name’s Mike Maimone, I play keys and sing in a Chicago-based trio called Mutts, whose sound has been described as Tom Waits meets Nirvana. It’s a uniquely guitar-less blend of heavy garage rock with soul and blues. Thanks for your time.

Having grown up in Ashtabula and lived in Lakewood for a few years, I’m looking forward to bringing my band home to play Wilbert’s on 9/17. I used to play the Grog Shop open mic and became friends with the host, Xe La from The Uncanny, who are also playing with us. I hope to see you at the show if you’re free, and it’d be great if you could write a show preview or EP review on Downtown Cleveland Blog.

    NEW ALBUM COMING LATE 2011!

    Press Highlights:
    2011.03.24 : Chicago Red Eye / Metromix
Named a Chicago Band to Know by the Tribune’s Red Eye and Chicago Metromix
2010.Fall Issue : The Big Takeover Magazine

“Maimone’s low, guttural, forbidding voice sets the speed, while heavy, distorto bass and pound-pound-pounding drums channel Blue Cheer, Cream, and Hendrix’s Experience, while Maimone introduces his central weapon: forsaking all guitar, his organ is so piercing, loud, harsh, and mean, you don’t notice.” – Jack Rabid
    2010.09.28 : Loud Loop Press

“It’s saying something that a band can reach the big rock n’ roll moments of current major acts like Queens Of The Stone Age or the Dead Weather without an axe, but Mutts do and quite effortlessly at that.

Mutts pretty much let it all hang out. The Tells of Parallels is not only well produced… but it works because of it’s simplicity. Mutts never drag. They give it their all in five-minutes or less, and it really works. The band are poised to become one of Chicago’s top acts if they keep pumping out material that’s as good as what The Tells of Parallels has to offer.”
