I was lucky enough to be a part of Casino Night for the Cleveland Clinic residents this weekend.
This event was part of Resident Appreciation Week and capped off a week of sporting events, game nights, food and fun. It’s a way of saying thank you to the residents for all the hard work that they do.
Although I have been to plenty of these sort of events, I had never been to a Casino Night and I also had never been to Cafe 1100. Boy, what a pleasure. First of all, if you are looking for a place to hold an event, I would highly recommend this place. Great food, friendly staff, and a very open layout. This is a family owned and operated establishment which caters to the breakfast and lunch crowds and special event catering.
The event itself started out slow, like most do, but when it picked up it really picked up. Blackjack, Texas hold’em, roulette and craps tables were packed with people shouting and having fun, so much fun, you might have thought they were playing with real money. In the end everyone was given tickets that corresponded to the number of chips they had won. A raffle was drawn for some pretty nice prizes including an iPod, Playstation 3 and a very nice trip to Naples Florida.
Fun times were had by all, this one will be hard to top next year!
