If you are a fan of independent and or foreign films, the arts or just looking for something new and interesting to do with friends over the next week, this could be right up your alley! Every year Cleveland hosts an International Film Festival. This is no local festival, we are talking about approximately 150 feature films and 150 short subject films from over 60 countries around the world. The CIFF started over 30 years ago with a small sampling of films shown at the Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights. The festival has grown each year since and this year more than 70,000 attendees are expected. Theatres participating include Capital Theatre in Detroit Shoreway, Cedar Lee, Shaker Square and Plaza Cinema. Tickets should be bought in advance and movie goers can often expect guest film makers to make appearances at the film and stay after for a Q & A. For more info visit http://www.clevelandfilm.org.
Bravo to the organizers of the festival. Amazing turn out and even better submissions by independent film makers.
